10 Insane Rumours For Upcoming Superhero Movies

Now we're getting into true WTF fantasy territory, with the totally bats**t-yet-awesome rumour that an A-lister mega-star beyond compare is about to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Well, sort of.

Again, this is pretty out-there, but the rumour posits that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will feature an appearance, presumably in cameo form, by Tom Cruise.

Cruise will allegedly play an alt-universe version of Tony Stark, in homage to the fact that Cruise was originally in line to play a version of Iron Man many moons ago.

How Likely Is It?: The fact that the movie obviously deals with the multiverse certainly makes the possibility of an alternate Tony Stark showing up a very real one.

However, casting Cruise just feels a little too inside baseball, not to mention how busy Cruise has kept himself filming Mission: Impossible 7 recently, while also seeming to have a general aversion to superhero movies.

Then again, Cruise did spend a good while in London shooting Mission: Impossible while Doctor Strange was also conducting filming in the city, so it's not impossible that Cruise could creep over to the Marvel set for a day or two of secret filming.

It'd certainly bring the house down, but is absolutely a rumour to take with a pinch of salt until you're actually watching the movie for yourself next March.
