10 Major Thoughts Coming Out Of Avengers: Infinity War

3. Thanos Is A Great Villain

Thankfully, after being teased as the MCU's end-of-game boss for six years despite doing little else except pop up in credit scenes and float around on a big chair, Thanos delivers on his fearsome reputation and establishes himself as arguably Marvel's best villain yet.

Fully-CGI villains aren't always the best idea, but the effects work is convincing throughout, which sells the characters as a physical threat. Josh Brolin's motion capture performance is allowed to shine through, and the sense of weary gravitas that the actor brings to the role suits the Mad Titan to a tee.

Like all good villains, Thanos is clear in his motivations and belives in his cause, rather than simply wanting to destroy the universe because he can. Essentially the main character in Infinity War, Thanos is able to carry the story thanks to a combination of Brolin's performance, stellar effects and a clearly-defined plan that obviously takes a heavy personal toll.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
