10 Major Thoughts Coming Out Of Avengers: Infinity War
4. It's A Long Movie, But It Doesn't Really Drag
To the surprise of absolutely nobody, Infinity War is a very long movie. The longest in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, in fact. Yet despite clocking in at a butt-numbing 149 minutes, the story is constantly moving at such a rapid pace that the running time never feels like it drags, like the way it feels like it takes four weeks to sit through a Transformers movie.
With so many characters, locations, subplots, MacGuffins and exposition to cover, Infinity War never has time to rest on its laurels and it keeps the pace brisk, frequently switching between teams of characters to keep things fresh, before doubling down and throwing everything but the kitchen sink at the screen during the third-act carnage.
After such an assault on the senses, the final scenes of the movie are surprisingly intimate, and came as a massive shock to audiences around the world. Switching from CGI armies kicking the sh*t out of each other to a genuinely emotional gut-punch was a brilliant move, one that had audiences speechless by the time the credits rolled.
