7. Hellraiser

Clive Barker's novel, The Hellbound Heart, centres around a puzzle box called The Lament Configuration. Solving this artefact will summon the Cenobites - a horde of hedonistic demons who cast anyone they wish into Hell.
Of course, this formed the basis of the much loved Hellraiser movie series. With its visceral violence and Lovecraftian-inspired lore, the movie made a lasting impact on the horror genre, spawning nine sequels. But considering there hasn't been a good instalment since Hellraiser II, the franchise is in desperate need of a reset.
After many failed attempts, a reboot was finally announced in 2019. Little is known about the story, save for the fact the Cenobite leader, colloquially known as Pinhead, will be female this time around, portrayed by Jamie Clayton.
Although it's great for the series to get a fresh start, reboots aren't always a good thing, as A Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th proved. But there's one factor giving fans hope about the latest Hellraiser project. The script was written by David S. Goyer, who wrote a little film called The Dark Knight. With him onboard, this reboot should hopefully capture the spirit of Barker's work.
