4. The Problems With The Script
As it turns out, fixing the Spectre's ending is the least of the movie's problems. Eyebrows were raised when veteran Bond writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade were brought in to make alterations to John Logan's screenplay, but it's been rumoured that Edge of Tomorrow's Jez Butterworth was also brought in to rewrite and revise parts of the script. In fact, the script was barely finished by the time shooting began, and may have still been undergoing rewrites even after that. That's been the case on a number of films of course, so it might be too soon to start worrying. Even so, the chances of Spectre somehow topping Skyfall are looking worryingly slim if all of these story problems are to be believed. Oh, and that's not all. Those leaked "Sony Hack" emails also appeared to indicate that the budget is north of $300 million. While that won't matter too much if the movie grosses over $1 billion again, Spectre under-performing as The Amazing Spider-Man 2 did with a similar budget last year means that this movie could seriously damage the franchise's future.
