10 Most Underrated Moments In The MCU

5. "Kneel!" - The Avengers

The civilian side of the MCU rarely get much of a chance to shine, aside from running away from crumbling buildings or screaming at explosions. Joss Whedon is an all-inclusive type of chap however, and he made sure to put a human face on the terrified masses of his movies.

The shining example is when Loki appears in Stuttgart and gives the crowd outside a gala a lesson in kneeling before him. He gives a pompous speech about how mankind secretly longs to be ruled, before one old man in the crowd defiantly stands up. The old dude clearly has some bad memories of past rulers and refuses to bow before Loki, proclaiming “There are always men like you.” like Loki proclaims how special he is.

It’s a line that hits home in an unexpected way for a glossy comic book movie, and thankfully Captain America drops in at the last second to prevent the old guy being turned into paste.
