3. Shooter McGavin - Happy Gilmore

Poor old Shooter, the man who waited for so long for his moment in the sun before an uncouth young man known as 'Happy' came along and ruined everything. Loaded with his signature gun shooting salute, McGavin was the kind of entertaining golfer that the PGA would love to have on tour.

While the film quickly portrays Shooter as an uptight, mean spirited villain who can't accept change, he really is just acting as any professional golfer would(on the golf course anyway). No modern golfer would put up with Happy’s crazy theatrics, while attendees punching beachballs on the course would rightfully be expected to be berated and booted out.

There is no doubt that Shooter takes things a little too far when he purchased the house of Happy's Grandma in a bid to get Happy off the tour. And yes, hiring someone to hit Happy in a golf buggy so he is incapacitated was no doubt a low level felony.

But hiring a heckler to taunt Happy simply put him on a level playing field considering what poor Shooter had to deal with from the crowd. His other actions could also be largely excused due to the anger that had clearly built up inside him, rightfully frustrated that the raucous behaviour of Happy and his followers was being willingly tolerated for the sake of ratings.

Such a legendary figure of the PGA tour deserved better treatment than this, and being assaulted at the end of the tournament was not befitting of a golfing legend.

While he likes to know himself as the 'thunder from down under', Luke is actually just a big dork who loves all things sport, film, James Bond, Doctor Who and Karaoke. With all the suave and sophistication of any Aussie half way through a slab, Luke will critique every minute detail of films and shows from all eras- unless it's 1990's Simpsons episodes, because they're just perfect
