10 Movie Actors About To Play Totally Against Type

6. Ryan Reynolds As A Bank Teller - Free Guy

If Ryan Reynolds has a brand, it's surely that of the quick-witted, wise-cracking motormouth, as evidenced by the success of the Deadpool movies in particular.

Reynolds is typically cast as the irreverent, smartass action hero - usually a superhero, secret agent or soldier - so it'll be refreshing to see him playing a bank teller in his new sci-fi action-comedy Free Guy.

Reynolds will play Guy, a man who discovers that he's actually a non-player character (NPC) in an open-world video game about to be taken offline forever.

It's a wacky-with-a-capital-W premise and one which would fit an everyman actor like, say, Seth Rogen, perfectly.

And while it's highly likely that Free Guy's script will take advantage of Reynolds' quip-happy qualities, it's nevertheless a bit jarring to see the unfairly handsome actor playing an everyday nerd forced to embrace his inner-hero.
