10 Predictions For What The DCEU Will Look Like 10 Years From Now
2. Lesser Known Characters Step Out Of The Shadows
Before the Disney/Fox merger, Marvel Studios only had access to The Avengers and lesser-known characters like Blade, Moon Knight, and Ghost Rider. There's plenty that can be done with them, of course (which is why Avengers: Endgame is the highest-grossing film in history), but Warner Bros. has the advantage of holding the rights to every DC Comics superhero ever created.
Beyond the obvious heroes like Batman, Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern, there are countless possibilities for new franchise leads, including Nightwing, Lobo, Blue Beetle, and Booster Gold, a handful of seemingly random suggestions who, thus far, have actually been eyed for their own movies.
Those haven't come to fruition yet, but we're certainly expecting that to change over the next decade, especially as Warner Bros. starts gaining a little more confidence in these DC heroes and villains. Previously, they seemed scared to commit to them after spending so much time relying on Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings, but that now has to change, and it will only ultimately benefit fans.
