Thus far, it's clear that Marvel Studios is continuing the legacy of certain heroes by having different characters inherit their mantles. We're bound to see Iron Heart at some point, for example, and The Falcon is well on his way to replacing the elderly Steve Rogers as Captain America. However, Anthony Mackie is already 41, so will he still be a superhero at 51 when 2030 arrives?

Probably not. There may be plenty of new heroes on the way to the MCU, but it would be a terrible shame if we don't get to see more of them moving forward. What's the obvious solution? Well, James Bond-style recastings make perfect sense, and there are even ways to explain that continuity-wise.

A reality-altering Secret Wars-style event movie would change the MCU as we know it, rebooting some franchises and leaving others as is. That could mean new versions of familiar faces, something Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is setting up by exploring alternate realities. Even the Loki TV series looks set to introduced a new, female version of Loki, thereby replacing Tom Hiddleston!
