10 Really Dumb Moments In Otherwise Flawless Horror Films

7. Sticking Around With A Murderer On The Loose - The Mummy's Hand

In another Universal Monsters instalment, The Mummy's Hand, a group of archaeologists end up disturbing the tomb of a mummy named Kharis. He comes for them in the final act, and so it really turns into something of a slasher movie with all the characters being picked off one by one. In most slasher flicks, though, the characters at least make some attempt to flee once the bodies start piling up. The weird thing about The Mummy's Hand is that there isn't ever a moment like that at all. When the first member of the team dies, at no point is there a discussion that they should maybe get out of there considering there was just a murder. Granted, they don't know it was the mummy that killed him yet, but why would they remain camped here when there's a mysterious killer around? In fact, none of them really seem that upset. They're startled, but then in the very next scene, everyone's getting drunk and doing magic tricks. Shortly after, they're back to work trying to locate the tomb they came there for. Hey guys, remember when one of your friends was murdered like 50 feet from where you're sitting? Is anyone concerned about that?
