10 Reasons Black Widow Could Shape The MCU's Future

4. Taskmaster

Based from the trailer footage, we can make a fair guess that the main villain of the movie will be Taskmaster. The character is notably recognised as a mercenary hired to train certain individuals. The inclusion of this villain may provide evidence of a new Red Room following the events of Captain America: Winter Solider, with the potential of Taskmaster being hired to train a new set of spies.

In the comics, Taskmaster can mimic someone’s combat abilities, which makes him a phenomenal trainer for someone looking to match up to a rival. In the trailer, there are images of the villain with a bow, which perhaps hints that he (or she) may have copied Hawkeye’s abilities in a battle.

In the comics, Taskmaster has worked for a range of organisations including S.H.I.E.L.D, but the mimic has also been known to work under Norman Osborn during the Siege of Asgard. This storyline could be translated onto the big screen due to Asgard’s relocation onto Earth (Norway), which resulted in Osborn’s motive to form a team to remove Asgard from the planet.

Furthermore, the character has been involved in the team, Frightful Four, which is a team that serves as rivals to the Fantastic Four. The Fantastic Four have been rumoured to enter the MCU for many years, and the new unknown ownership of the Stark Tower has increased their speculation.

Also, Taskmaster has had history with Deadpool and any possibility to bring Ryan Reynolds over to the MCU should be a top priority!

Ryan Stevens hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
