10 Recent Horror Movies That Pissed Everyone Off

The 2021 Fear Street horror movie trilogy, based on the book series created by the legendary R.L. Stine, was a big hit with audiences. It wowed viewers with its self-aware campness, violence, neon-soaked atmosphere, and clever use of slasher movie tropes. Then came the fourth instalment, Fear Street: Prom Queen, which sent all that goodwill flying right out of the window. 

Prom Queen is a frustrating movie that lacks all the punch of the previous Netflix-produced films. It has terrible pacing, a disappointing third act, and a deflating plot twist that uninspiringly reveals that the most obvious person was the killer. On top of that, you can't even enjoy some gory kills as Prom Queen is shockingly sanitised, cutting away from most of the gore and lacking any grit. 

So, just to count, you've got people pissed off at seeing the source material butchered, fans who were pissed off that the level of quality dropped from the last films, and horror fanatics who were deprived of a good gorefest. How do you irritate that many people in one fell swoop?
