3. Ray Bronson - I Know What You Did Last Summer
The new I Know What You Did Last Summer wasn't very good, but its third act did manage to be both totally bonkers and absolutely terrible all at once.
We eventually find out that Stevie (Sarah Pidgeon) isn't the only hook-wielding killer terrorising Southport - legacy character Ray Bronson (Freddie Prinze Jr.) has been helping her all along.
As for Ray's motive? He's mad that Southport has basically erased the original killings from its history as part of a wider gentrification initiative, despite the trauma it all caused him.
This leads to a final confrontation where Ray attempts to kill his ex-wife Julie James (Jennifer Love Hewitt), but Ray ends up being shot dead with a speargun by Ava (Chase Sui Wonders).
Even though it was possible that Ray would get the "Dewey treatment" and be killed off at some point in the movie, just about nobody expected him to be killed by the heroes because he's one of the murderers himself.
It's quite the understatement to call this reveal and Ray's subsequent demise "polarising," but it definitely surprised everybody.
