10 Recent Movie Sequels That Came Out Of Nowhere
4. Sniper: The Last Stand
There's something oddly charming about over-the-hill, played-out movie franchises that just won't quit, and that's certainly true of Sniper - the action franchise which began with 1993's Tom Berenger-starring box office hit.
All subsequent sequels - some of which have starred Berenger - skirted a theatrical release in favour of landing directly on home video.
And while you might be aware that there were a few Sniper movies, believe it or not the franchise just celebrated the release of its eleventh movie.
Unless you're a Sniper die-hard - and it's reasonable to assume you probably aren't - the existence of Sniper: The Last Stand likely comes as something of a surprise, that the series can keep making enough money to justify another go-around.
Chad Michael Collins returns once again as protagonist Brandon Beckett, who took over as lead from Berenger's Tom Beckett in the fourth Sniper movie.
But even more surprising than this sequel's mere existence is the fact that the few reviews out for it honestly aren't bad at all.
