10 Relationships That Must Be Explored In Future Marvel Movies

7. Steve Rogers & Bucky Barnes

Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes were childhood friends in Brooklyn, New York. They grew up together, remained friends in to adulthood and were in the army together - with Rogers joining a little later than Barnes, given that he was a sickly, skinny guy before his transformation in to the super soldier Captain America. When Rogers and Barnes were part of a team that assaulted a train with Arnim Zola on board, Barnes fell to his apparent death in to the snowy, rocky abyss in Captain America: The First Avenger. However, in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, he was revealed to be very much alive and was indeed the titular villain, having been kept alive cryogenically, brain-washed and fitted with a bionic arm by HYDRA in order to carry out dangerous missions for them. He came in to conflict with his former friend (Rogers) during HYDRA's emergence from within S.H.I.E.L.D. and, despite Rogers trying to get through to him, they fought until the hero was unconscious. However, Barnes showed signs of his old self when he saved Rogers from drowning and walked off in to the wilderness. We can only assume this means he will become more prevalent as his old self in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and, as such, it's going to be great to see the old friends reunite and, hopefully, resurrect their old friendship.
