8. Wanda's Use Of The Reflections - Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness
The main narrative throughout the Multiverse of Madness was that Wanda Maximoff wanted to get her hands on America Chavez to utilise her multiverse-jumping power and be with her children. Naturally, Doctor Strange and Wong stood in her way.
The defences of Kamar-Taj fell quickly enough to Wanda’s power, but she soon triggered a trap set by Strange. Though she was thought to be caged by his magic, she soon escaped using the reflections around the fortress.
She started by dragging two nameless sorcerers through puddles on the floor before Strange clocked onto what was happened. Though he, Wong, and America began to cover up the puddles, blocking her access back into the room, America’s curiosity allowed the Scarlet Witch the opportunity she needed.
Within moments she was emerging from a broken and deformed version of herself. As she stood, her bones began to crack back into their correct places, but not before creeping the hell out of Strange, Wong, America, and everyone sitting and watching. This was why Kevin Feige brought Sam Raimi in, and this scene in particular was difficult to shake afterwards.
