10 Scenes That Could Have Been Cut From Zack Snyder's Justice League
2. A Lot Of The Slo-Mo Sequences
Nobody can contest that Zack Snyder has one of the most distinctive filming styles in cinema. Because of his overly saturated colour schemes and his ability to perfectly recreate comic book panels, it's effortless to recognise Snyder's work.
However, the visionary director is best known for his slow-motion scenes. His work on 300 and Watchmen showcased the best slo-mo that audiences have seen since The Matrix. As a result, we knew we would have some bullet time sequences in Justice League.
After all, slo-mo is a great tool to emphasise defining moments or a turning point in a story. It was utilised perfectly in Justice League when Flash learned he could time-travel or when the superheroes fought Superman.
But did we need to see a sesame seed falling at a snail's pace? Did we need a dozen slow shots of Hippolyta running from Steppenwolf? If the slo-mo is overdone, viewers will become desensitised to it, making it lose its impact. Not only would cutting out a lot of slow-motion shorten the run time by 15 or 20 minutes, it would make the the remaining slowed down scenes more effective.
