1. The Endless - Endlessly Reliving Your Death

“What could be a fate worse than one death?”, I hear you ask. Well, how do infinite deaths sound to you?

The Endless sees brothers Justin and Aaron reconnecting with a weird cult camp they attended as children. The siblings disagree about the nature of Camp Arcadia, with one claiming it was an extra-terrestrial death cult and the other maintaining it was nothing more than a hippie commune.

Once there the brothers see and experience weird things, culminating in the discovery that a malicious entity is ruling over the camp and being sort of worshipped by the cult members.

Justin finds a group of people the entity is keeping stuck in infinite time-loops: forced to experience their own violent deaths over and over again for the entertainment of the malevolent overseer.

One man sits, smoking as he tells Justin that people are trapped in “pods of time” that make them relive their deaths. Behind him is his own corpse, hanging. He explains that you have to kill yourself before the loop restarts lest the entity do it for you, because it’ll do it in ways “much worse than anything you can do yourself.”

Some are stuck on much shorter loops than others, such as the one man Aaron witnesses in a tent whose life must end every few seconds. There are few things worse to imagine than an inescapable infinite loop of your own painful death.
