10 Sci-Fi Movies Audiences Walked Out Of
1. Prometheus
When Ridley Scott decided to return to the Alien universe, it’s doubtful he was hoping to continue a proud legacy of cinema walk outs. Nonetheless, after Alien’s appearance earlier on this list, Prometheus proved just as capable of shedding audience members mid-movie.
But while Alien had people fleeing for the exits in sheer terror, Prometheus had audiences less fearful of intergalactic monsters and more frightened of losing their lunches.
The film contains some fairly stomach churning surgery scenes. Elizabeth Shaw, played by Noomi Rapace, discovers herself to be pregnant with an alien lifeform. Rather than letting nature take its course, Shaw decides to extract the creature herself.
As Reddit user RunDNA puts it:
“... during the Prometheus surgery scene, the guy sitting next to me was bent over, looking real queasy, and about to vomit all over my shoes. The movie cut away to something different, and he sat back up in his chair, looking better. Then it cuts back to all the blood, and he stumbles out of the cinema, trying not to puke into his hands over his mouth, and not really succeeding. He didn't come back.”
