3. Jim Carrey

Jim Carrey, the man whose arms know no socket they couldn't defy. Staring with Ace Ventura: Pet Detective and working his way up to almost identical films, Carrey had flailed his way to comedy glory. And then came The Truman Show. The Truman Show is a spectacular film about a man whose entire life is a reality TV show, unbeknownst to himself. Everything from his wife to his career was planted there for him by a sinister director located in the moon. Carrey brings the film home, keeping the narrative and premise from wheeling off in wild and unpredictable directions. His arms do that instead. It's a wonderful role that Carrey has yet to top, unless we ever get that Yes Man sequel no one was really asking for.
