10 Things Fans Don't Want To Accept About Fox's X-Men Movies

8. They Were Often More Comic Accurate Than MCU Movies

The X-Men movies definitely made their fair share of mistakes, and in a lot of respects, didn't respect the comic books the way they should. However, while colourful costumes may have been taken off the table from the very start, there were a lot of key elements about this franchise that were, in fact, more comic accurate that what the Marvel Cinematic Universe has delivered.

There's no beating Marvel Studios in terms of character, but the heavy-hitting nature of the X-Men movies dealing with prejudice and the way their existence has often been used as a metaphor for racism and homophobia is something it's hard to imagine the Disney-owned MCU ever delivering.

In the MCU, the likes of Civil War, The Winter Soldier, and even Infinity War have little in common with the storylines they're named after, but there are a tonne of moments in the X-Men movies which have been brought to life far more accurately, even after the necessary changes which come with adapting them for the big screen.

There's no denying that mistakes have been made (just look at Dark Phoenix), but to dismiss these X-Men movies as not being comic accurate is a mistake.
