10 Things Fans Don't Want To Accept About Fox's X-Men Movies

5. Hugh Jackman Wasn't Actually That Great As Wolverine

Hugh Jackman was certainly a box office draw as Wolverine, but an argument can definitely be made that his take on the clawed mutant honestly wasn't anywhere near being the best version of that character. The longevity the actor had as Logan is impressive, and he delivered some terrific performances, but comic book fans will surely agree that his Wolverine was... just okay.

Many fans of the X-Men franchise will quite happily die on the hill they're standing on to defend Jackman's Wolverine, but outside of the gruff attitude, the big screen version of this hero didn't have much in common with his comic book counterpart.

There were some decision - like the lack of a costume - which were out of the actor's control. However, Wolverine being a jerk who set out to steal Jean Grey from Cyclops and undermined the leader of the X-Men just made for tedious viewing, while the moronic decisions he made in his solo outings - like willingly joining the Weapon X programme to forget his past - were borderline comical.

Jackman was a fine Wolverine, but it's time to accept there's a better choice out there for the role.
