10 Things That Almost Completely Changed Spider-Man: Far From Home

4. Peter's Vacation Prep

Before Endgame even hit theatres and brought Spidey, and many others, back from their five year "blip" out of existence, the trailer for Far From Home was already teasing the international vacation direction of the new movie. That initial trailer was mostly based around scenes of Peter getting ready for his trip to Europe, almost all of which didn't make it into the finished movie.

Missing from the final movie are moments such as Peter collecting his passport (complete with the tongue twister line "Peter Parker here to pick up a passport, please") or shopping for essentials like the all important dual headphone adapter at the renovated Delmar's grocery store, a callback to the first movie and one which is packed with little references like the framed newspaper front pages behind the counter.

One particular scene that is disappointing to have lost is a moment in which Peter decides to sell his Star Wars toys in order to raise the money to buy the Venetian glass black dahlia to give MJ as a romantic gift, only he struggles to part with one particular favourite: Lando's cyborg assistant Lobot from The Empire Strikes Back.

This would have been a nice moment, showing a connection with the thread of Peter as a geeky Star Wars-loving kid and reminding us that, for all the Tony Stark connection, he's still a poor boy struggling to scrape the money together to get what he wants.

Given Spidey's "friendly neighbourhood..." status, it would have been nice as well to see more of his own neighbourhood, post-blip, before heading out to Europe.
