10 Trailers That Tease Missing Scenes In Superhero Movies

The third trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man kept banging on about the "untold story" of Peter Parker's parents, but this was barley touched on in the first movie. In fact, there was more of this subplot in the trailer footage than the actual film.

"If you want the truth about your parents, Peter, come and get it," says Rhys Ifans's Doctor Connors. Irrfan Khan’s Ratha later adds: "Do you think what happened to you, Peter, was an accident? Do you have any idea what you really are?"

Neither of these lines ended up in the final film, and since The Amazing Spider-Man 2 spent more time setting up sequels and planting Easter eggs than developing its characters, this untold story is destined to remain just that.
