5. Prince Xizor
Leader of The Black Sun crime syndicate, Prince Xizor’s influence was almost on par with Emperor Palpatine’s. As ruthless as he is cunning ,The Black Sun is not an organisation you wanted to make an enemy of. This was something the Emperor understood and even sought them as allies, although Darth Vader was distrustful of the crime lord. Anyone able to stand toe to toe with Palpatine and Vader was someone to be feared.
First introduced in the Shadow of the Empire novel he acts as a primary antagonist to Luke, Leia, Lando, Chewie and Dash Rendar. Described as having a predatory charisma Xizor feels right at home in the Star Wars underworld. The Black Sun has appeared in the new canon a few times. The standout being as part of Maul’s crime syndicate.
The interesting thing about this Prince of Crime is that he could fit exactly where he was removed from in the Canon without it affecting the current lore too much. With his story taking place after Empire. There is potential to see his rise to dominance following a power vacuum after Darth Maul’s demise.
With Crimson Dawn and the Pyke Syndicate featuring in Solo, it's possible we could see the rise of The Black Sun again very soon.
