10 Villains Sony's Spider-Verse Must Introduce (And Who Should Play Them)

6. The Kingpin (Vincent D'Onofrio)

The Kingpin was not only one of the highlights of the MCU Netflix shows, but he was also one of the best villains in the MCU period. D'Onofrio's performance throughout was spot-on and bringing the character into the Spider-Verse with a new actor would be a huge missed opportunity on Sony's part.

We're long overdue for a Spider-Man and Kingpin showdown on the silver screen. D'Onofrio's and Tom Holland would be fantastic together, especially as Spider-Man becomes increasingly frustrated anytime Kingpin successfully — and sometimes, legally — avoids jail time for his crimes.

Even if D'Onofrio is retained but they ignore the Netflix storyline, there are still countless opportunities for Kingpin to once again become a compelling character in Sony's world. Vulture, Morbius, Venom — someone needs to start manipulating these villains for their own gain.

If the Sinister Six is truly around the corner, why wouldn't the Kingpin be the one to bring them together in the Sony Spider-Verse? He'll pit his enemies against one another, hoping to stand alone at the top when the dust settles.
