10 Ways Aquaman Is Better Than Black Panther
1. A More Interesting Hero
If you've seen Jason Momoa in interviews, you'll be able to recognize this undeniable energy he gives off. He comes across as endearing and entertaining to simply watch, which is a quality lent to Arthur Curry. Momoa's Arthur oozes charisma and always has plenty of charm to spare. Able to give off a vibe of seriousness and lightheadedness, this Aquaman is someone you're more than happy to go on an adventure with.
Unfortunately, the same can't be said about T'Challa. It's not on Chadwick Boseman, who is putting great work into the character, that T'Challa is all-too-frequently the least interesting character in his own movie. Wakanda's uniqueness and the likes of M'Baku, Shuri, and Okoye are what makes the film enjoyable. Had that responsibility been left up to T'Challa, it wouldn't have fared nearly as well. His dry, neutral-toned personality fits the character, but it doesn't offer much in terms of endearment towards them.
With Arthur, he's always entertaining to watch, whether he's punching henchman through a wall or just conversing with Mera. T'Challa is fun to watch when that Panther suit comes on, but once it's removed, there's not a whole lot left to levitate towards.
