10 Ways The Marvel Multiverse Could Kill The MCU
1. It May Lead To Some Weird Reboots
In the past, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has said that he has no plans to reboot characters or franchises. That's created some confusion, because even though Phase 4 is clearly about passing the torch, there are only so many times that can happen... and so many superheroes to focus on.
However, introducing the Marvel Multiverse now gives Feige another option; when an actor's contract ends, or they move on from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he can now just pluck a different version of that same hero from another world! Chris Evans won't come back as Cap and Anthony Mackie wants to try new things? No problem, just find a "new" Steve Rogers or Sam Wilson.
Some will argue that it makes sense, but relying on a Multiverse to reboot characters feels a tad lazy, and could confuse those who follow characters and not every single movie and TV show.
It might not be five or even ten years from now, but when Marvel Studios does need to greenlight some reboots, the Multiverse might complicate that massively.
