10 Worst CGI Moments In DCEU History
1. Henry Cavill's Moustache - Justice League
When it released, though it should have and could have been DC’s 'Avengers moment' had it been approached properly, Justice League became something of a laughing stock for Warner Bros. All manner of issues on and off screen meant that the movie fell flat as one of the most poorly received movies in the franchise.
When Zack Snyder was tragically forced to step away from the movie, he was replaced by Jess Whedon, whose drastically different vision for the movie led to a huge amount of reshoots. Some of these came at the exact wrong time for Henry Cavill. The DCEU’s Clark Kent was at the time filming for Mission: Impossible - Fallout, and was sporting the bushy moustache of Agent Walker.
This wasn’t something that he could just shave off, so it had to be digitally removed during post production. To say that it was done poorly would be a huge understatement. The image of Henry Cavill with a clearly altered face almost became the poster boy for the problems with this movie, as the CGI to try and remove the moustache was laughable.
Opening the movie with the shot wasn’t the best idea either, as it gave Justice League something of a mountain to climb right out of the gate. Even the release of the Snyder Cut couldn’t erase this now infamous image from the minds of fans.
