10 Worst MCU Villains Of 2021
8. Sandman (Spider-Man: No Way Home)
Back in 2007, Flint Marko was one of the many villains used in Spider-Man 3, and was arguably the most controversial of them all. The retcon to make him Uncle Ben’s killer was not a decision that sat well with everyone watching.
After Peter Parker felt all those old feelings from the first movie, Marko ultimately ended on relatively good terms with Spider-Man, as he was forgiven for what he did that night. This meant that he happily fought by Spidey’s side against Electro when he was first introduced in No Way Home, which was interesting to see at the very least.
However, Marko soon began doubting his allegiances, and ultimately fought alongside Lizard, Electro, and the Green Goblin in the MCU’s shorthanded version of the Sinister Four. His reasons for doing this seemed very arbitrary and flimsy, only really making the switch because he felt like it.
Visually, Sandman was one of the more impressive villains of the movie, particularly when compared to the VFX available when he made his last appearance on screen, but there was actually relatively little substance to Thomas Haden-Church’s return.
