10 Worst Movie CGI Of 2019

4. The Power Station Chase - Hobbs & Shaw

This is really a broader problem with the Fast and the Furious franchise as a whole, that any time it needs to use CGI to make a vehicle fly through the air, said vehicle typically disobeys even the most basic laws of physics.

Now granted, few expect gritty realism from this series, but when you combine the iffy physics with low-fidelity animation, the result is quite offensive to the eyes.

This was especially true during Hobbs and Shaw's mid-film power station chase sequence, with Shaw siblings Deckard (Jason Statham) and Hattie (Vanessa Kirby) riding a buggy-like vehicle through the labyrinthine station.

They smash through windows and fly through the air with an hilariously reckless abandon, which is totally fine, except that it looks no more believable than a mediocre video game cutscene.

The explosions are horrendously low-quality, and the buggy itself doesn't move with even the faintest semblance of physical plausibility.

The movie embraces its stupidity enough to get away with it, but given the $200 million budget, it's embarrassing that a marquee set-piece looks this flimsy and laughable.
