10 Worst PG-13 Horror Films Since 2020

1. Fantasy Island

In 1977, a TV show launched that depicted a remote location where guests would be granted their wildest dreams for a hefty price. 43 years later, somebody thought it would be a good idea to re-imagine this show as a horror.

The idea was good, but the execution was highly flawed.

This is 2020's Fantasy Island (another Jeff Wadlow joint), which shared a similar premise but with a dark twist. It featured a pretty stacked cast including Michael Peña as the island’s mysterious overseer and Lucy Hale, Maggie Q, and Michael Rooker as some of the guests.

Unfortunately, this movie was less of a fantasy and more of a living nightmare. The dialogue was painfully wooden, not helped by a bafflingly bad script, and considering how rich the subject of wishes gone wrong is, even within the confines of a PG-13, the film made no attempt to reach beyond its basic premise.

Bad acting, bad writing, and, above everything else, a chronic lack of scares, Fantasy Island successfully killed any interest in the IP and will go down as one of the worst films of the decade in any genre.
