Like Pat Hingle, Michael Gough would serve all three 90s era Batmans (Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, and George Clooney), in the role of loyal butler and confidant Alfred Pennyworth. A friend of earlier Alfred Alan Napier, he had over 150 credits to his name over a multi-decade career that included roles in The Phantom of the Opera, Dracula, and The Avengers television series. Appearing on stage as well over the years, Gough won a Tony award for Best Actor in the play Bedroom Farce in 1979. Gough passed away at age 94 in 2011, and was fondly remembered by Batman star Michael Keaton, who posted on Twitter "To Mick my butler, my confidant, my friend, my Alfred. I love you. God bless."
