11 Most Disappointing Movies From Summer 2017

6. Rough Night

Rough Night Scarlett Johansson Kate McKinnon Zoe Kravitz Jillian Bell

The Buzz: Broad City director Lucia Aniello helms this Very Bad Things-esque comedy about a group of women (Scarlett Johansson, Kate McKinnon, Jillian Bell, Ilana Glazer and Zoe Kravitz) who kill a male stripper and attempt to deal with the situation (poorly). The cult promise speaks for itself.

What We Got: Though it certainly wasn't terrible, Rough Night never made the most of its talented ensemble due to an underwhelming script, over-abundance of subplots and failure to ramp up the satire or live up to the true darkness of its grim premise.

It's without question one of the more tolerable entries on this list, sure, but given the cast and ripe premise, it should've hit much harder and been a lot more memorable than this.
