11 Movies You Didn’t Know Were Connected
2. Unbreakable / Split
While Unbreakable wasn’t the money hoover The Sixth Sense was it was still critically acclaimed and is arguably M. Night Shyamalan's best movie. It’s also the movie fans have been clamouring for a sequel too, since the ending begs for one.
While talk of Unbreakable 2 appeared every now and again, it seemed unlikely with each passing year. The director managed to make a mild comeback following years of duds with The Visit, and Split looked set to continue that streak. The story follows a man with split personalities, who during the course of the movie manifests a new persona called The Horde.
The last scene is set in a diner, where a news report details the events of the film. A patron points out how it reminds her of a crazy guy in a wheelchair who was arrested fifteen years ago, before Bruce Wills appears as David Dunn from Unbreakable and tells her his name was Mr Glass.
Pre-release Split didn’t even hint it was linked to Unbreakable, so this revelation really floored fans who waited so long to see Willis back as Dunn.
