11 People Who Got Paid Insane Money For NOT Making A Movie

7. John Carpenter - Halloween Sequels/Remakes

Horror legend John Carpenter has pretty much retired from filmmaking to focus on playing videogames and making music, and if anyone has earned the right to do so it€™s him. He still regularly receives cheques, though, since his prolific output is constantly being recycled. Despite having nothing to do with the Halloween series after Halloween III: Season Of The Witch, he still gets paid every time a new movie is made, since he created the characters and composed the iconic theme. When it comes to remakes of his work, like The Fog or Rob Zombie's Halloween, again all he has to do is wait for his money to arrive in the post, despite not even being consulted about them. Carpenter himself put his enviable position the best: €œI extend my hand and a cheque is put into it, for which I did nothing. Which is a job I€™ve wanted to do all my life!€
