There are certain things everyone wants for their comic book movies: you want the best actors, the best directors and the best talent across the board. But if you don't have a good script, you don't have a good movie, no matter how pretty or how spectacular it aims to be.

So it's extremely good to hear that Aaron Sorkin is apparently meeting up with both Marvel and DC, as he revealed to ComicBook.com on the red carpet in Las Vegas. Not that he's specifically qualified:

“I happen to have meetings coming up with both DC and Marvel. I have to go into these meetings and tell them as respectfully as I can that I’ve never read a comic book. It’s not that I don’t like them, it’s just that I’ve never been exposed to one. So, I’m hoping that somewhere in their library is a comic book character that I’m gonna love and I’m going to want to go back and start reading from the first issue on.”

His CV makes Sorkin a huge draw for whoever gets him to work on a comic book movie: he's put in time on the likes of The West Wing and The Newsroom, A Few Good Men, The American President, The Social Network, Moneyball, and Steve Jobs among many more. In other words, he's got an impressive track record and would be a huge bonus.
