12 Great Moments In Mediocre Comic Book Movies
6. Wolverine And Sabretooth Fighting Through History In X-Men: Origins
Incredibly, X-Men: Dark Phoenix was the first movie of the franchise that didn't feature Hugh Jackman. He even appeared in both Deadpool movies on a mask and in the post credits scene respectively. Of all the movies to feature Wolverine, Origins was easily the worst.
It's somewhat ironic that his first solo outing would be received so badly after becoming so popular in the X-Men franchise. In what should have been the opening to a whole new branch of different origin stories, this movie gave little but pointless characters and the worst depiction of Deadpool any could have ever dreamed of.
However, as the movie began, it seemed as though Fox may have been onto another winner. With the promise to delve deeper into Logan's past than ever before, the opening credit sequence showed Wolverine fighting side by side with Sabretooth throughout some of history's greatest wars.
This was a fascinating look into the character's past like never before, and in just three minutes was more entertaining and featured more character development than any of the rest of the movie.
