6. Good Will Hunting

Good Will Hunting Casey Affleck
Miramax

Matt Damon and Ben Affleck's story of an impoverished child prodigy will certainly be regarded as a great story for the years to come. It's a coming of age drama, an underdog story and a little bit of a light comedy all woven in with some pretty honest and genuine life lessons.

It's also a tragic film about loss and abuse, and some of the subject matter discussed would most certainly be triggering for some audience members watching. While one big relationship in the film is between the titular Will and his therapist Sean (Robin Williams), the two secondary relationships between Will and his best friend Chuckie (Affleck) and Skylar (Minnie Driver) are the ones to really focus on.

The last time Will saw Skylar, he painfully berates her for trying to connect with him and the two break up. After all the breakthrough and honest conversations with Sean and Chuckie, Will does the one thing he was never brave enough to do and takes an initiative.

While everyone else is desperate for Will to not squander his intelligence, Will instead goes a different route and follows Skylar to California- intent on rekindling his relationship with her and focusing on what really matters.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
