12 Weirdest Pieces Of Movie Merchandise Ever Created
7. Dawn Of The Dead Board Game
The late, great George A. Romero’s Dawn of the Dead is quite
frankly one of the best zombie movies ever made but why on earth now defunct
game manufacturers Simulations Publications Inc thought the film would
translate successfully into a board game is beyond us.
The box claims the game “accurately recreates all the action and tension of the great original film scenario” – because nothing quite captures the urgency and terror of a zombie apocalypse like a slow-paced board game, right? It also boasts a “full-colour playing map based on the actual film setting” which really just means a board featuring a rather uninspired bird’s eye view of a mall floor plan.
Apparently, the game can be played with up to three of your (presumably very bored) friends but luckily there’s an “intriguing solitaire version” for all the Billy no mates board game enthusiasts out there too. Though seeing as the rules are about as easy to understand as mathematical physics, you might be better off playing a fun round of Numberwang.
