13 Best Character Introductions In MCU Movies

As fantastic as Spidey's MCU arrival is, it falls just shy of the #1 spot, which goes to Vision's pitch-perfect arrival in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Vision (Paul Bettany) comes to life after Ultron's (James Spader) new shell body is stolen by the Avengers, J.A.R.V.I.S. is uploaded into it and Thor (Chris Hemsworth) brashly uses his lightning powers to activate him.

Vision quickly lashes out and gets thrown across the room by Thor, after which the Avengers have an oddly dignified chat about whether this newly-created entity can be trusted.

After a minute or two, Vision tells the group, "There may be no way for you to trust me...", at which point he casually lifts up Mjolnir, stunning the gathered superheroes and persuasively convincing them of his heroic intentions.

For all of Age of Ultron's many issues, this was a fantastically efficient piece of writing that quickly established Vision as a worthy superhero while avoiding all the typical, boring hand-wringing about the dangers of unchecked A.I. (which was instead reserved for Ultron). Plus, it was a fun callback to the Mjolnir-lifting contest from earlier in the movie.

For its clever, no-nonsense execution, Vision's arrival just barely beats out Spider-Man to represent the best the MCU has to offer.
