Box Office: $440.6 million
Though Terminator Genisys was a monumental piece of garbage that few fans of the franchise asked for, it nevertheless performed above many expectations internationally, again thanks to China.
Despite tanking in the U.S. ($89.7 million), Genisys made $113.1 million in China (25.6% of its whole gross), cementing the nation's love for robots above all else.
Genisys is an especially interesting comparison as it also starred Emilia Clarke, though ironically she was thoroughly miscast as Sarah Connor in that movie, yet turned out to be one of Solo's most pleasant surprises in spite of its box office failure.
No matter how irrelevant most of the Terminator sequels are, the only one Solo actually managed to defeat at the box office was 2009's stagnant Terminator Salvation ($371.3 million).
