Phil Lord and Chris Miller are two of the most talented young directors working today, having gone from strength to strength with their work on Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, the 21 Jump Street series and The Lego Movie.

The pair have been heavily in-demand as of late, being tipped to write the original version of The Flash and also the upcoming Spider-Man animated movie, and of course, they're fresh off being removed from the Han Solo film.

Given the various production issues that have plagued the newer Star Wars movies, though, it doesn't seem likely Hollywood will hold it against the pair. They've clearly got talent to spare regardless.

How Likely Is It?: Rumours persist that the pair are angling to direct Flashpoint, though one suspects this will only happen if they can also write the script after their experience on Han Solo.

Even if that falls through, though, their directorial sensibilities are so well-suited to superhero movies that they'll inevitably land one at some point. 8/10
