In the aftermath of his death, there was a lot reported about roles Robin Williams almost played - the Joker, Jack Torrance, Willy Wonka. Clearly had things gone a little differently the late actor could have been even more prominent. What would have probably put his face out there the most was the role of Rubeus Hagrid in Harry Potter, which the actor was reportedly very keen in playing. While Williams, who was Warner Bros.' favourite to play Hogwarts' groundskeeper was never but offered the part, he did have a big impact on the Harry Potter series. Resolutely against the choice, Rowling decreed that not only would Williams not play Hagrid, but that all actors in the film would have to be British. With her getting final refusal on all casting, the producers had no choice but to comply. Robbie Coltrane eventually got the part and did a better, less over-the-top version than Williams would have delivered. Oh, we shouldn't have said that.
