8 Ways The Martian Shows Hollywood How To Do Science Right
DreamWorks

Starring The X-Files heartthrob David Duchovny and The Forgotten’s Julianne Moore, Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman’s 2001 sci-fi comedy Evolution offers a far sillier and more fun-oriented take on alien invasion than those franchises, and remains one of the most underrated examples of sci-fi comedy since… well, since Reitman made Ghostbusters II, actually.

Following a set of scientists as they attempt to understand the strange lifeforms coming from a crashed meteor outside a small Arizona town, Evolution combines some intentionally cheesy FX with larger than life performances from the likes of Orlando Jones, Seann William Scott, and Ethan Suplee, providing laughs and thrills from beginning to deeply ridiculous end, which is easily the coolest shampoo ad in cinema history.
