15 Original Upcoming Movies Which Might Save Hollywood

11. The Good Dinosaur

Release Date: November 25 (US), November 27 (UK) What It's About: In a world where dinosaurs were never made extinct, a young dino named Arlo (Lucas Neff) has just lost his father (John Lithgow) and, following an accident, ends up lost far away from home. He befriends a human cave-boy, Spot, and together the two set off on an adventure to get Arlo back to where he belongs. Why It Can Save Hollywood: As already mentioned, Pixar have had a rather mediocre time of it lately, and with Inside Out looking to restore their grand reputation, hopefully this delightful-looking animated yarn will do just the same. It's the first year where Pixar have released two movies, so hopefully this isn't a sign that the studio put all their energy into Inside Out while this played second fiddle. Though the film has had noted production issues (Up director Bob Peterson was taken off the project in 2013 for failing to make the third act work), the studio's meticulous commitment to getting it right is at least encouraging. With a voice cast also including Frances McDormand, Neil Patrick Harris, Judy Greer, and Bill Hader, there's a ton of talent in the mix, and it'll no doubt do extremely well off the back of all the dino-mania stirred up by Jurassic World's release. Even merely good Pixar is still better than about 90% of what most other studios churn out, so this one should be an absolute delight.
