The location of the last remaining Infinity Stone was one of 2018's most burning cinematic questions, and many seemed justifiably convinced that Black Panther would reveal its whereabouts.

The common opinion among fans was that the Soul Stone may have been buried underneath the Wakandan Earth and may even be responsible for the vibranium-laced soil there.

Black Panther ultimately came and went without a peep about the Soul Stone, and only in Infinity War several months later was it revealed that it resides on the planet Vormir. Pretty much nobody saw this left-field reveal coming, which made it all the more satisfying.
