8. A Good Question, Never To Be Answered - The Force Awakens
The Force Awakens ended with a lot of unanswered questions and a cliffhanger that made us want to find out what was going to happen next. If only we knew what we were in for… But there is one part of the film that was never answered in the entire Disney Trilogy.
When Han and Chewie take Rey and Fin to Maz Kanata’s Castle, Rey senses something calling to her from beneath the castle. She discovers that it is Luke's old lightsaber, which he lost in Empire Strikes Back after Vader cut off his hand. This led to many fans, and even Han, wondering how Maz came into possession of this legendary Star Wars weapon.
Sadly, Maz just tells us that it is a story for another time, implying that we will have a chance to learn the truth in a future film. Well, The Last Jedi came and went, and we got no answer. The Rise Of Skywalker came out, and we still got no answer.
What could have been an interesting plot line to follow was dropped by the films and has left Disney trying to fix the mistake in a comic book series.
What a waste.
