15 Worst Movies Of 2015 (So Far)
8. Home Sweet Hell
Rotten Tomatoes: 6%
If nothing else, Home Sweet Hell does answer the pretty pressing question of who is actually still employing Katherine Heigl. Quite whether it answers if that was a smart decision remains to be seen.
You can sort of see why the actress might think that this black comedy might be enough to drag her career out of the drain: there's even some self-awareness of the image that seems to have made her a known professional difficulty. But her choice was poor, as the film is both idiotic (and confident in a way only clueless idiots can be) and horribly sexist.
Men are clumsy oafs who apparently make decisions only based on greed, sex or the advice of Jim Belushi (hard to tell which is worst), and women are all devious, controlling snakes. You get the sense that that was supposed to be funny, but it's just not.
And spare a thought for Patrick Wilson, who seems intent on pouring his career away as painfully as possible.
